STUDENT BODY OFFICERS - QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
PRESIDENT * Senior with 2 years of StuCo Experience * NO RPC or major behavior infractions * No unsat marks in citizenship * 3.0 GPA * Plan and conduct all meetings in and out of school * Attend all President meetings and CCSD Student Council events and conferences * Work to promote school achievement, culture, and spirit * Chief liaison between students, administration, and council * Supervise & Submit all documentation for Southern Star, Silver Star and National Council of Excellence activities * Responsible for working with SB Secretary on Goal Packets * Teach a leadership lesson (Distinguished Student Leaders) every two weeks. VICE PRESIDENT * Senior with 2 years of StuCo Experience * NO RPC or major behavior infractions * No unsat marks in citizenship * 3.0 GPA * In the absence of the SBP, plan and conduct meetings * Chairperson of Homecoming * Chairperson of all spirit weeks, assemblies, and hallways * Organize assembly and hallway committees * Chief liaison between committee heads, hallway heads, and council. * Responsible for student, staff and teacher of the month recognition * Teach a leadership lesson (Distinguished Student Leaders) every two weeks. PARLIAMENTARIAN & COMMUNITY OUTREACH * Senior with 2 years of StuCo Experience * NO RPC or major behavior infractions * No unsat marks in citizenship * 3.0 GPA * Chairperson for all community events and communication * Responsible for organizing 1 community service project per quarter * Responsible for organizing 1 fundraiser per quarter * Responsible for daily/weekly fundraiser on campus (Canes & noodles) * Responsible for Student Body & Staff Communication – social media, flyers, emails, etc for all campus event * Responsible for any records of voting * Responsible for Brother & Sister school contacts (work with SB President) * Teach a leadership lesson (Distinguished Student Leaders) every two weeks. HISTORIAN * Seniors & Juniors with at least 1 year of StuCo Experience * NO RPC or major behavior infractions * No unsat marks in citizenship * 3.0 GPA * Chairperson of all documentation needed for Southern and Silver Star, National Council of Excellence and Distinguished Student Leaders * Responsible for the compilation of scrapbook & documentation needed for awards * Responsible for documenting all council events * Responsible for creating Google folders for every event so that documentation and pictures can be uploaded by all council members * Responsible for creating the end of year scrapbook that will be given to each council member * Teach a leadership lesson (Distinguished Student Leaders) every two weeks. SECRETARY * Seniors & Juniors with at least 1 year of StuCo Experience * NO RPC or major behavior infractions * No unsat marks in citizenship * 3.0 GPA * Responsible for creating a meeting agenda with the SB President * Responsible for taking meeting minutes/notes at all council meeting and posting them to Edmodo/Google Classroom * Responsible for working with SB President on Goal Packets * Responsible for all council communication & reminders * Responsible for updating council calendar & website * Responsible for organizing specialty week recognition (Counselor, Teacher, Boss, Secretary, etc week) * Responsible for keeping track of banking records, fill out check requests and help with budget * Responsible for checking on supplies & ordering supplies * Teach a leadership lesson (Distinguished Student Leaders) every two weeks. |
HOW TO QUALIFY TO RUN FOR A STUDENT COUNCIL POSITION 1. Attend the mandatory election meeting 2. View the rules and regulations sheet with your parents, sign and return it Mrs. Rivera in H108. 3. Pick up an application (you will receive this after Mrs. Rivera receives your signed rules and regulations form) and fill it out. 4. Print Teacher Recommendation Forms and give it to your three teachers (see below) 5. Turn in our completed application by the due date and check the "approved to run" list posted on the Mrs. Rivera's window VIEW THE ELECTIONS INFORMATION PRESENTATION HERE HOW IS A "WINNER" SELECTED FOR STUDENT COUNCIL POSITIONS?
